Blackbird Construction served as the Construction Manager for the 5th Street Marina on the Miami River, a riverfront deep-water terminal on a US Federal Channel. The Miami River is one of the most regulated waterbodies in America with jurisdictions by the Army Corp for navigation, the State of Florida for submerged land issues, DERM for the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Preserve and Manatee Protection Plan, the South Florida Water Management for wetlands and flood control, the Coast Guard for Homeland Security issues as well as the local building departments at the City of Miami and Miami-Dade County. Our experience and success at working with all of these agencies has led to additional work at other properties on the Miami River.
